UBS’s former head of wealth planning for the UK and Jersey has joined KPMG as an associate partner in its wealth and asset management practice.

Shelley Doorey-Williams (pictured) was part of a double hire in the team alongside Dean Brown, who joins from EY’s wealth and asset management technology division and will become a partner at KPMG.

Doorey-Williams spent half of her 30 year career working in wealth management at UBS. She was head of wealth planning for Emea before focusing on the UK and Jersey. She then worked for global consultancy firm Sionic, where she was shortlisted for the 2021 City Wealth Woman of the Year Award for her work on governance and diversity. She is deputy chair of The London Institute of Banking and Finance.

In a press release announcing her appointment, she said it was an exciting time to be working in the wealth management space. “The sector has a vital role to play in society, supporting the global wealth management and savings market.”

Brown has experience consulting asset management boards and helping them deliver “global transformation programmes”, KPMG said in a press release. This included target operating model design, cost reduction, post-merger integration, as well as “leading multiple implementations of investment platforms”.
