Invesco’s head of US product strategy and development, and Matthews Asia’s former global head of distribution, have joined New Mexico-based firm Thornburg Investment Management.
Jonathan Schuman, who worked a 10-month stint at Weston Partners as a senior adviser after 13 years at Matthews Asia, has been hired to develop and build an international segment of the business. This will be a direct business line as opposed to a distribution arm, according to Thornburg. He will report to the company’s CEO Mark Zinkula.
Richard Kuhn joins from Invesco, where he spent nearly 20 years in various product roles – the most recent being head of US product strategy and development. He will report to global head of distribution Jesse Brownell.
Thornburg IM, which is a $44bn (£34.8bn) asset manager based in Santa Fe, hired the duo on 1 April. While based in the US, the company services institutional, professional and individual investors on a global basis across the UK, Canada, Ireland and various countries in Western Europe and the Nordics.
