First Sentier Investors has appointed Melanie Halsey as its chief people and culture officer.
Based in London, Halsey (pictured) will partner with the business to design and implement strategies to attract, engage and develop employees and “help the business build a high-performance culture”.
She will join the firm on 6 September and report to CEO Mark Steinberg.
Halsey has more than 20 years’ experience in senior HR roles, beginning her career at Fidelity International and eventually becoming head of HR, UK Financial Services. From there, she joined global venture capital firm Eight Roads, which is backed by Fidelity, and then went on to Colt Technology Services where she was executive vice president.
Commenting on her appointment Steinberg said: “At First Sentier Investors, we see an opportunity to further align our people programmes with our vision, purpose and growth ambitions. Ms Halsey has extensive experience in the operational areas of HR, and has led broad strategic cultural transformation programmes in the areas of D&I, CSR and employee engagement, which we know will play a pivotal role in our ongoing success.”
First Sentier Investors had more than $180.3bn (£131bn) in assets at the end of March. Last year the Sydney headquartered fund group rebranded from First State Investments, following its acquisition by a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group in August 2019.
