Laud joins from Baring Asset Management where she was for a short period manager of the firm’s Baring Multi Asset Income fund.
She was previously a fund manager at Schroders for eight years.
In a statement this morning, Fidelity said Laud would be responsible for equity-income teams with £12bn of assets under management including funds such as Fidelity Global Dividend and Fidelity MoneyBuilder Dividend.
Laud will report to Paras Anand, the group’s chief investment officer for equities, Europe.
Anand said: Our equity income funds have become increasingly popular among our clients in recent years as they continue to search for yield in today’s low interest rate environment.”
