Fidelity International has appointed Keith Metters, the firm’s global head of platform solutions, to lead its overall business.

Metters, who joined the company in 2020 to head up its Workplace Investing business arm, will report to chair Abigail Johnson.

Metters has more than 25 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked in the US at Fidelity Investments. While there, he adopted a range of roles, most recently leading its Workplace Investing core market division, where he led the implementation of investment strategies and solutions for clients.

He replaces CEO Anne Richards, who announced that she would be stepping down from her role on 20 November last year. She will take a six-month break before returning to Fidelity International as vice chair.

“Keith steps into this role at an important time for our business. Our focus is on delivering both the core investment capabilities we are known for, while continuing to build out those capabilities we know our clients need both now and in the future,” Johnson said.

“Keith’s deep knowledge of the Fidelity business, his relentless focus on the customer and his rigour around operational effectiveness make him perfectly suited to lead the Fidelity International business into this exciting next phase in its history.”
