Paul Feeney has resigned his position as head of international distribution at BNY to pursue an opportunity elsewhere in the industry.

Feeney has been with the company since April 2008 and has responsiblity for wholesale sales and client services and for the group’s core marketing functions.

He looks after the distribution and development of the group’s onshore and offshore fund ranges, which include alternatives and hedge fund strategies.

Feeney is not able to disclose where he is moving next and will spend the next few weeks transitioning his responsibilities to Alan Mearns, CEO of BNY Asset Management.

His team were informed yesterday of his intention to leave and as a well-liked employee of the Group, a source at BNY said Feeney would be much missed.

Previously Feeney was at Gartmore where he was head of distribution and responsible for all sales, marketing, product development and multi-manager divisions.

Before that Feeney held positions at RBS and Coutts, and he began his career at Natwest.
