Federated Hermes has hired Polar Capital sales manager Shanta Nathan for its UK wholesale team as it plots its expansion outside of London.

Nathan joins as a director this month and will report into Dan Churchouse, head of UK wholesale distribution. He will focus on Federated Hermes’ clients in the south of England, excluding London.

Nathan built a broad book of wholesale clients in this region during his 10 years at Polar, where he also covered sales in the south of Wales and Ireland.

Churchouse said while London remains a key hub for Federated Hermes, the $669bn fund group is keen to expand its client base outside the capital.

“The UK has always been a key market for us as a firm given our roots in the UK pension fund management space,” Churchouse said. “With Shanta’s expertise and focus, we have full resource to cater to all our existing and potential clients.”
