The F&C European Small Cap ex UK fund, active from 16 March, will provide UK investors with exposure to the European small and medium companies space.
Manager Sam Cosh will target the bottom quartile of the market capitalisation spectrum, utilising the same stockpicking long-term growth investment process employed by the firm’s pan-European equity team on its existing range.
The fund is an ex-UK onshore OEIC version of F&C’s European Small Cap SICAV, and is targeting a portfolio of 40-60 holdings. The clean share class carries an annual management charge of 0.75%, and preferential terms available in the founders’ class.
Rob Thorpe, F&C’s head of UK sales, said: “It was clear from our ongoing conversations with clients that there is an appetite from UK investors for European small caps.
“The fund, managed by an experienced and successful team, will use a proven strategy, providing clients with a product that has the potential to prosper regardless of the economic environment because of its successful stock-picking strategy.”
Cosh also runs the European Small Cap SICAV and European Assets Trust, while the 10-strong European equity team currently manages £4bn of assets.
