In his new role, he will manage the Fixed Interest Trust as a partner, starting on 23 July subject to approval by the regulator.

Previously, Anderson was running JP Morgan Asset Management’s sterling corporate bond vehicle, before leaving the company in July last year. Prior to that he was at Gartmore until April 2011, where he was head of credit.

“Fixed interest has an important part to play for asset allocators where it is considered as an integral holding within most portfolios.  The performance of some of the speculative areas of the fixed interest market has taken these assets close to bubble territory,” Ed Rosengarten, partner and head of funds business, said.

In the past year, the Fixed Interest Trust has seen a cumulative performance of 4.6%, compared to a 5.4% performance of the IMA Sterling Corporate Bond Index, according to FE Analytics.
