Financial advice consolidation firm One Four Nine Group has nabbed a new chief financial officer from Kingswood.

Patrick Goulding was most recently group CFO at the listed wealth manager but has 30 years’ experience in financial services across wealth and fund management, real estate and investment banking at firms including Schroders and Morgan Stanley.

Last month, the financial advice upstart revealed former JP Morgan Asset Management and Artemis sales boss Jasper Berens was joining the board as a non-executive director.

Goulding has experience managing acquisitions, securing external funding and overseeing the restructure and integration of disparate business functions. He will work closely with One Four Nine Group’s chief executive Matthew Bugden and the executive team to progress the business’ strategic ambitions.

One Four Nine was launched in late 2021 and has already acquired three financial advice firms. In a press release, it said it had a strong pipeline of additional opportunities at various stages of due diligence. As well as standalone advisory firms, it is interested in advisors linked with accountants or professional services firms.

It offers a centralised investment proposition for advisers and their clients as soon as they join.

“Having spent my entire career in the financial services sector, you learn to spot the leading firms with an innovative edge and One Four Nine Group stood out,” Goulding said. “I am delighted at the opportunity to join such an entrepreneurial and energetic firm at an early stage in its journey and relish the chance to contribute to the long-term success of the business, its adviser community and, ultimately, its clients.”
