Blackrock’s former head of UK retail Richard Royds has joined a City PR firm.
Royds, who has 30 years’ experience in the UK and European asset management industry, has joined Montfort Communications as a senior adviser.
He was latterly at Blackrock as head of EMEA strategic clients where he handled relationships with some of Blackrock’s biggest banking, wealth management and insurance clients
He spent a total of 25 years at Blackrock, including more than 15 years as head of UK retail funds and a stint as head of UK marketing. He was also on the operating company of the EMEA funds business and on the executive committee of iShares EMEA.

Montfort founding partner and head of the financial services practice Gay Collins described Royds as a “first-class operator”, adding he will be “a real asset” to the firm.
