Ex-Blackrock director lands at Brooks Macdonald

A former Blackrock director has landed at Brooks MacdonaldPortfolio Adviser has learned 

Chris Bishun (pictured) joined the Aim-listed investment manager as an investment solutions director at the start of the month. 

In his newly created role Bishun will work alongside Brooks Macdonald’s investment managers and as part of the chief investment officer pillar to provide intermediary clients with technical guidance and expertise.

He will be based at the firm’s London headquarters. 

Bishun worked at Blackrock from October 2018 as director of EMEA portfolio analysis and solutions advising on macroeconomics, portfolio construction and product selection. He left the firm last September and has since been working as an independent consultant.

Prior to that he spent 11 years at Barclays Wealth Management, starting out as an assistant portfolio manager in 2008 and working his way up to head its investment business in the Channel Islands.  He has also managed portfolios at Baring Asset Management and Citi and is a CFA charterholder. 

Over the last year Brooks Macdonald has undergone massive change, including axing 50 jobs in an effort to streamline the business and reshuffling its senior team.

In February it completed its acquisition of Cornelian Asset Managers which took total assets under management to £14.5bn. This dropped down 7% to £12.2bn at the end of Q1 due to the coronavirus sell-off.
