Tillit has welcomed Patrick Edwardson (pictured) to its board as a non-executive director.

The appointment was expected and follows Edwardson’s investment in the company’s seed funding round in December last year, which brought in £3.6m.

Founder and chief executive Felicia Hjertman said his “deep industry experience will be a great asset in our pursuit of transforming the DIY investing market and building a platform that empowers people to make better investment decisions”.

The pair previously worked together at Baillie Gifford, where Hjertman was an investment manager and Edwardson was head of multi asset.

He said: “Tillit is growing rapidly and making fantastic progress. They are trying to do a really good thing – empowering personal investors to make better, more informed investment decisions with ease. I’m delighted to support that as a shareholder and it’s a privilege to now join the Board and be part of the team.”

Edwardson is the latest in a series of new faces to appear at the D2C platform, with The Share Centre’s fund-of-funds manager, Sheridan Admans, joining as head of fund selection earlier this month.
