Fundcalibre has launched a watchlist for funds that have not yet passed their three year track record.
Evenlode Global Income, lead managed by Ben Peters, and Schroders Global Recovery, run by Nick Kirrage (pictured) and Kevin Murphy, are among the eight funds to initially be awarded the ‘Elite Radar’ badge.
Fundcalibre said the funds are potential candidates for a full rating once they pass their three-year milestone. Its existing Elite Rating system is based on a predictive quant model that assesses the probability of a manager being able to generate alpha in the future.
Managing director Darius McDermott said the fund research agency is sharing a list that they already used in house.
“Occasionally a fund or manager will come to our attention that doesn’t have the required three year track record for an Elite Rating– either because it is a new launch or a new type of mandate or different investment area for a manager – but which we place on our watch-list,” McDermott said.
Funds awarded the Elite Radar badge:
RWC Continental European Equity
TB Evenlode Global Income
Investec Global Special Situations
Schroder Global Recovery
Liontrust UK Micro Cap
LF Livingbridge UK Multi-Cap Income
Old Mutual Gold & Silver
Baillie Gifford Japanese Income Growth
