European Wealth announced on Monday it has hired Jeff Hodgetts as an investment manager.

Formerly a private banker with Barclays, Hodgetts will join European Wealth as an investment manager.

According to Rod Gentry, European Wealth’s group CEO, Hodgett’s has: “demonstrated an impressive ability to build a client portfolio of independently minded City professionals.”

The appointment of Hodgetts follows, the wealth manager’s recent listing on AIM its appointment last year of Martin O’Grady from Barclays Private Bank.

European Wealth commenced trading in 2010 and was officially launched in 2011 and listed in 2013. It has two operating divisions, European Investment Management Limited and European Financial Planning Limited.

“As a business that has grown in a post RDR environment, I am impressed how European Wealth has successfully returned wealth management back to its original private banking principles where the relationship between the client and wealth manager is key,” Hodgetts said.
