EQ Investors has hired Naomi Friend to promote its Positive Impact portfolios to financial advisers.

Friend has worked with private clients, family offices and institutions during her 20 year career. She was managing director at Cambridge Associates and investment manager at Rothschild and Co.

Most recently she provided strategic advice to the Project Snowball partnership, a social and environmental impact investment venture focused on retail investors.

EQ chief executive John Spiers said Friend’s appointment was a “vote of confidence” as she had chosen the wealth manager ahead of “numerous other organisations keen to secure her services”.

Friend said she looked forward to building “partnerships that will enhance the fast-growing impact investing side of the business”. She will be based in the London office.

Alongside working with advisers, she will develop business opportunities for investment mandates within the institutional sector.

EQ’s Positive Impact Portfolios are available in Isa, Sipp, offshore bonds and general investment accounts.
