As head of multi-asset, John will work closely with CIO Gill Lakin and be involved in the provision of asset allocation and fund selection for model portfolios and risk-graded investment strategies.
Established in 2009 by former Jupiter and New Star chief Duffield, Brompton offers a discretionary service as well as funds within its FP Brompton Multi-Manager OEIC.
The firm currently runs £1.2bn in assets under management, around £800m of which is in for external funds. It is currently the investment manager for Money Wise, Pantheon Financial and The Way Group, running five, seven and three multi-asset/multi-manager strategies for these groups respectively.
Prior to joining Brompton, John was chief executive of ECU Group, a currency and multi-asset specialist, while he was at IMS at the time it was the UK’s largest independent multi-manager with £5bn of assets.
John said: “I have known Brompton’s senior people for many years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with them in building a first-class multi-asset business.
“With markets increasingly complex and volatile and regulation intensifying, investors recognise the importance of diversification and that multi-asset investing can go a long way to meeting their needs.”
