Mark Dunn has joined Downing in the newly created role of head of retail sales.

Franklin Templeton’s former head of retail business development will oversee Downing’s sales team and the distribution strategy across the business. The company said his appointment will help bolster growth in assets under management.

Based in London, he will be responsible for the firm’s business development across its core propositions in VCTs, EIS, IHT planning and the Downing Fund Managers suite of funds.

Dunn left Franklin Templeton in December 2021 after nearly eight years. According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been working as a business development consultant at Lane Clark & Peacock since February of this year.

He has more than 30 years’ industry experience, which includes two and a half years as sales director UK at Carmignac Gestion and seven years as head of business development as BNP Paribas’ FundQuest.

Downing CEO Tony McGing (pictured) said: “We are delighted that someone with Mark’s credentials and skillset is joining the expanding Downing team.”

He added: “He has extensive experience of distributing funds and investment solutions to the UK and Irish markets and will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business.”
