Columbia Threadneedle has swiped Blackrock’s deputy COO of EMEA distribution Michaela Collet Jackson.

Collet Jackson (pictured) joins the firm as head of distribution EMEA and will lead the charge on Columbia Threadneedle’s regional sales and client service functions across its wholesale, institutional and insurance channels.

Reporting into CEO EMEA Nick Ring, she will form part of the fund group’s regional leadership team when she arrives on 22 March.

Ring praised Collet Jackson as a “results-focused leader” and pointed to her “outstanding record of achieving growth through a highly effective combination of strategic direction, team leadership and client-focused organisational structure”.

“Under Michaela’s leadership we are well positioned to build deeper relationships, serve more clients and grow our EMEA franchise,” he added.

Collet Jackson has spent the better part of her 18-year career at Blackrock, joining the business in 2009 after it acquired her former employer, Barclays Global Investors. She has worked in a variety of distribution roles at the $8.7trn (£6.3trn) asset manager, including serving as the iShares business development lead for international and private banks in the UK and Switzerland, head of Nordic retail and head of solutions and partnerships for EMEA retail.
