Columbia Threadneedle names M&G’s Scrimgeour EMEA CEO

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Michelle Scrimgeour as chief executive officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa and CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management.

She will also join the executive leadership team of Ameriprise Financial, Columbia Threadneedle’s parent company.

Scrimgeour joins from M&G Investments, where she is currently chief risk officer, and a director of M&G Group.

Before her spell at M&G, she worked at BlackRock in various roles including chief operating officer for international fixed income, ultimately becoming a member of the European executive committee which led the firm’s EMEA business and oversaw the integration of BlackRock and BGI in London.
