Cohen & Steers has recruited David Conway to become its head of wholesale distribution for Emea on the back of huge growth in the year to date.

Conway (pictured) previously worked at Jupiter Asset Management where he was global sales director and helped build their global financial institutional business from London. He had departed before the Merian acquisition.

In the newly-created role, he takes over responsibilities from Marc Haynes who will now focus solely on the institutional pipeline of business for Emea. Both men will report into head of global distribution Dan Charles.

Cohen & Steers said the expansion of the distribution leadership team for Emea comes on the back of “industry-leading” 24% organic growth in Q2 2020 with the real assets firm raking in $3.4bn in net flows. In June, it appointed Jeffrey D. Sharon as head of North America institutional business development and consultant relations.

Charles said about Conway’s appointment: “David’s experience establishing successful business development programs throughout Europe and Asia will add to our growing distribution team serving our global client base. David will be integral to growing Cohen & Steers’ fund business amongst financial intermediaries across Europe and the Middle East.”

While at Jupiter, Conway built their Japan distribution model and established their first Asia sales and marketing office.
