High-profile industry figure Brett Williams is acquiring a shareholding in the business and will work closely alongside non-executive chairman James Caan and Insynergy founder and chief executive Spike Hughes, sharing responsibility for company strategy and direction.

The 30-year veteran first hit the UK platform scene as founder and chief executive of wrap platform Selestia in 2001, backed by Old Mutual. When Old Mutual acquired Skandia in 2006, the Selestia and Skandia platforms were merged with Williams becoming CEO of the combined platform. He left Skandia in June 2008 to join Cofunds.

“Brett has unparalleled experience in building and managing world-class distributor platforms,” said Hughes. “In guiding the Selestia, Skandia and Cofunds platforms to their market-leading positions, Brett has demonstrated exceptional management skills and a deep understanding of the evolving IFA distribution model.”

“In a rapidly changing investment and distribution landscape I believe Insynergy to be extremely well placed to bring a fresh and modern approach to fund management,” said Williams. “Insynergy is committed to outsourced investment partnerships, searching globally to identify world-class investment opportunities and teams, not normally available to retail investors or their advisers, and to bring these talents to investors on an exclusive basis.”
