Sharon Bentley-Hamlyn, co-founder and director of Aubrey Capital Management, is set to retire at the end of September leading to the closure of two funds.
The Aubrey European Conviction fund, managed by Bentley-Hamlyn since 2008, will close on 18 September as she departs the firm. The fund has held just a 5% overlap with the index with a strategy size of €23.1m as of August 2024. Since it’s inception, it has returned 212% compared to an index 150.4%. Aubrey also intends to close the SVS Aubrey Europe Ex UK fund.
Bentley-Hamlyn co-founded Aubrey in 2006, with the company now managing near £806m in assets. She also led the development of Aubrey’s in-house ESG analysis and has advocated for women in investment management through 100 Women in Finance, The Woman Fund, and Future Asset.
