Cunliffe took up the role earlier this month. He was formerly head of fixed income and multi asset investment strategy at Tesco Pensions Investments.
He spent just under two years there across 2013 and 2014 where he was responsible for fixed income allocation and top down multi asset strategy.
Before this Cunliffe was head of global fixed income macro strategy at Aberdeen Asset Management.
He also spent five years at ABN Amro Asset Management preceded by eight years at Lombard Odier and five years with the Bank of England.
Charles Stanley is understood to be midway through a series of internal presentations on its strategy for 2016 and beyond.
