Rossi has headed up the group’s insurance activities in Italy since 2008 as CEO of Axa Assicurazioni and will be succeeded in this role by Frederic de Courtois, currently CEO of Axa MPS.
Outgoing Carrel-Billiard joined the group in 2004 as senior vice president – business support and development, and was in charge of US insurance and the group’s asset management and reinsurance activities.
He was praised by group CEO Henri de Castries for his work in preparing the group to tackle the challenges brought on by the financial crisis.
Rossi and de Courtois will take on their new roles on 22nd July.
Last week Axa IM announced it was to make a £10bn commitment to infrastructure debt, and the mandate would be managed by its real estate debt team.
