Cazenove Capital has raided UBS once again for a series of “strategic” hires in Birmingham and Manchester as part of its regional expansion strategy.

Portfolio directors David Price, Nick Rowlands and Alexander Hobbs join the Midlands team and will form a new Birmingham office headed up by Price. All three join from UBS’ Birmingham office where Price served as the Midlands regional boss for over eight years.

In addition Cazenove said it had swiped fellow UBS alum Daniel Brint and Adam Bickell from Kellands Hale. Both will be based in Cazenove’s Manchester office with Brint joining as an assistant portfolio manager.

This is the second time in a matter of months Cazenove has recruited talent from UBS. In October it nabbed four senior portfolio directors for its North West hub, including Simon Pearson who now heads the Manchester office.

Cazenove Capital chief executive Mary-Anne Daly said: “We are pleased to have attracted individuals of this calibre to the firm as part of a strategy to reach a greater number of regional business owners, entrepreneurs and other wealthy families.

“This increased regional presence will ensure these clients can benefit from personalised local service and the breadth of Cazenove Capital’s investment and wealth planning offering.”

Karan Sejpal, team head responsible for business owners and entrepreneurs and the UK regions, said:

“We are delighted to welcome David Price and his team to form a new office in Birmingham and to add to our team in Manchester. These latest appointments are an important step towards realising our growth ambitions and harnessing the regional client demand that we are seeing, particularly in the Midlands and the North West.”
