Global manager Capital Group has hired Schroders veteran Guy Henriques to lead its Europe and Asia distribution as it plans to ramp up the number of fund launches aimed at investors in the regions.
Henriques will be based in the firm’s London office and officially joins in November.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry which has seen him work across Europe and Asia from Switzerland to Hong Kong.
Henriques most recently served as Schroders’ UK distribution boss and chief executive of its Latin America division. During his 12 years at the FTSE 100 fund group he was also president of Schroders Japan arm from 2012 to 2016 while working at the Tokyo office.
Before that he was head of asset management at the Bank for International Settlements for 15 years until 2006.
More Luxembourg fund launches coming
Capital Group president of Europe and Asia Hamish Forsyth said the firm has made “significant strides” in beefing up its business in the regions by offering more investment products and establishing permanent sales presences in major financial hubs. “Guy’s appointment to Capital Group will accelerate these trends,” he said.
Capital Group currently has $1.9trn in assets under management and has more than 850 associates across both Europe and Asia based in 14 offices.
It has 23 Luxembourg-domiciled Ucits funds available for European and Asian investors and Forsyth said the group intends to add one to two new funds to its Luxembourg range a year over the next three years.
