Capital Gearing Trust has named Karl Sternberg (pictured) as a non-executive director, who will take up the role on 5 September.
Sternberg is currently chair of Monks Investment Trust and Clipstone Industrial Reit, and Apax Global Alpha, while he also sits on the boards of Jupiter Fund Management plc and Howard de Walden Estates as a non-executive director.
During his career, Sternberg was a founding partner of institutional asset manager Oxford Investment Partners, acquired by Towers Watson in 2013. He has also held a number of positions at Morgan Grenfell/Deutsche Asset Management between 1992 and 2004 including as CIO for London, Australia, Europe and the Asia Pacific.

He was previously chair of JP Morgan Income & Growth Investment Trust until November 2016 and the senior independent director of Alliance Trust PLC until December 2021.
