Multi-asset manager Candriam has launched an alternative investments platform, bringing together its specialist teams under one umbrella.
Under the ‘strategic realignment’, the firm’s absolute return quantitative equity, quantitative multi asset, and multi management teams will combine, bringing together €23bn (£17.8bn) worth of assets.
As part of the move, the firm has appointed deputy head of multi-asset Steeve Brument (pictured) as the new global head of alternatives, while Grégoire Thomas has been named head of equity market neutral.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Terraz, global head of absolute return and quantitative equity, will depart from the firm after 20 years. Thomas will take up his role of lead fund manager for the Equity Market Neutral and Index Arbitrage strategies, alongside the firm’s existing fund management team.
