Both will be based in Candriam’s London office. Davies will be responsible for driving distribution across institutional, wholesale and retail investor segments. He joins from Fidelity, where he worked on banking distribution, platform development and investment trusts before growing the wealth business following the changes brought about by RDR. Davies began his career at Lloyds Banking Group, where he spent seven years before moving to Prudential.

Brander joins from Natixis, where he grew its UK wholesale business from infancy. Prior to Natixis, Brander held senior roles at Societe Generale Asset Management, GLG Partners and AEGON, covering global private banks, UK private banks, stockbrokers, wealth managers and IFAs around the UK.

Naïm Abou-Jaoudé, CEO said: “We have always enjoyed steady success over our 20-year history, previously as Dexia Asset Management. But we have seen outstanding rates of growth with a 40%-increase in assets since our acquisition by NYLIM two years ago.”

“The UK market, the second largest in the world, is competitive, but investors are looking to diversify their asset allocation,” he continued. “With such recognised names now within our reinforced UK team, we are in a position to really drive forward our established presence here.”
