After a great deal of speculation, the much-loved Thames River brand is to be consigned to history as its parent company F&C supersedes it.

F&C is in the process of writing to its shareholders to confirm that the Thames River-branded funds will be changed to reflect that company’s ownership by F&C.

This move has been speculated upon ever since the acquisition of the former by the latter in September 2010 and, while still subject to shareholder approval, the proposed fund changes will take effect on or around 6 April this year.

The upshot is that the Thames River-branded funds will see their name change to bring F&C Investments’ product offerings under one brand.

Co-head of Thames River’s multi-manager range, Gary Potter and Rob Burdett, will see their funds renamed as the F&C MM Navigator range; F&C’s own multi-manager proposition, its Lifestyle range, will follow suit and be known as the F&C MM Lifestyle funds.
