He is on gardening leave from his current employer, Quilter, and will take up his new position at some point in the summer. The exact date is still being negotiated.

With RDR on the horizon and outsourcing of investment capability very much in vogue with many advisers, Cadman has been charged with rolling out the Berry AM model portfolios to the IFA community. Chief executive Jamie MacLeod has already stated publicly that he wants to promote these portfolios through platforms – they are currently on just Novia’s platform – and it will presumably be Cadman’s responsibility to deliver on this.

His hire follows MacLeod’s pattern of bringing in experienced personnel so Cadman will work alongside other recent senior recruits to the firm that include Steve Croucher, chief operating officer, and Richard Fellows, director of wealth management. Cadman was hired by chief executive Jamie MacLeod to add to his senior management team.

Cadman joins from Quilter where since April 2008 he held the position of senior associate, charged with distribution of the firm’s discretionary fund management proposition in London.

Prior to starting at Quilter in May 2007, he spent the bulk of his career to date with Scottish Equitable (from 1995) where he was responsible for its Openwork network. Before this he was with the Clerical Medical Investment Group between 1987 and 1995.
