Brown Shipley has announced another hire from Julius Baer for a newly-created head of strategic partnerships and entrepreneurs network role.
Gordon Scott (pictured) has joined the wealth manager to develop its relationships with corporate advisory businesses, tax advisers, private equity and the investment banking community.
Scott will be based in Edinburgh, but operate on a national basis, reporting to Brown Shipley’s incoming head of private banking Calum Brewster, who also joins from Julius Baer on 8 February 2021.
Brown Shipley has poached two further members of staff from Julius Baer in the past six months. In June, Ben Lamers moved across as a client director in the London office and last week, it announced Martin Cuthbert as head of the Manchester office, also previously at Julius Baer.
Scott has more than 30 years’ wealth management and financial services experience. At Julius Baer he was an executive director, working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients.
Before that, he was regional director for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, and head of UK regions at Kleinwort Benson.
In his new role at Brown Shipley, he will also work with the entrepreneurial community to help them structure, finance and manage their wealth.
Brown Shipley chief executive Alan Mathewson said: “Gordon’s appointment and the creation of this role signals our increasing commitment to supporting entrepreneurial clients with their specific needs. His role will be critical in further building our brand presence and reputation, along with creating opportunities to engage with new segments and markets.”
Scott added. “I look forward to contributing to the development of the bank’s broader entrepreneur proposition and offering clients access to expertise across Brown Shipley and Quintet.”
