Brown Shipley has poached Sam Fearon from HSBC Private Bank to become a client adviser for its Manchester office.
Fearon joined HSBC in 2007 on the executive management training programme and spent 13 years in various client advisory roles, becoming director of its North West private banking business in 2019.
At Brown Shipley he will report to Jon Sherlock, client director in Manchester.
Commenting on the appointment, Sherlock said Fearon “will be a great asset” to the DFM. “Sam brings extensive expertise in a range of areas, not least in looking after entrepreneurial clients in the North West,” he added.
Brown Shipley has made a number of senior hires already this year, recruiting Julius Baer’s Philipp Iarmaltchouk to spearhead its financial intermediaries business in the UK and ex-Gam client director Rupert Cecil as head of charities and philosophy.
Towards the end of last year, it hired Martin Cuthbert to lead its Manchester office, as well as London and international client relationships boss Elizabeth Weir. It also nabbed Gordon Scott, another Julius Baer veteran, to expand its strategic partnerships and entrepreneurs network.
