Brown Shipley has nabbed Barclays Wealth private banker Lee Ramsden (pictured) for a client director role in its Manchester office.

At the wealth manager, Ramsden will be responsible for developing new client relationships and expanding the group’s presence in the North West.

Ramsden has over 13 years of industry experience, including senior wealth planning roles at Lloyds Bank and wealth adviser Towry.

He joins Brown Shipley after six years at Barclays Wealth where he was a private banker and wealth planner, looking after several high net worth clients overseeing a total portfolio of £250m.

Brown Shipley is among a handful of DFMs that have been targeting expansion in regional areas of the UK where there is a high demand for financial advice.

Its Manchester outpost currently has 15 client directors after Ramsden’s appointment, the highest number of directors across its six offices, including its London headquarters.

Commenting on his appointment Ramsden said: “I am excited to be joining Brown Shipley at the beginning of what looks to be an exciting year of continued growth for the business. I look forward to working with the rest of the team and continuing to provide an excellent, fully integrated wealth management service to clients.”
