Brown Shipley boosts London office with client director hire

Brown Shipley has boosted its London office with the appointment of a client director.

Ben Lamers has joined from Julius Baer International where he spent 14 years as an executive director and senior private banker, advising high net worth clients.

In his role at the Quintet Private Bank-owned wealth manager, Lamers will be responsible for developing client relationships along with a team of front office advisers and support colleagues.

He will report to Brown Shipley client director and team lead Michelle Coulson who joined the firm in February from Coutts.

Before the merger of Merrill Lynch and Julius Baer, Lamers held various posts at the former including vice president and investment consultant. He was an independent financial adviser at MLP Private Finance between 2003 and 2006.

Coulson said: “We are delighted to welcome Ben to Brown Shipley. The breadth of his experience in private banking and wide range of skills will be a great addition to our growing business and the delivery of our strategy.”
