Brown Shipley Private Banking has bolstered its Manchester base with the appointment of a new head of office.

Jonathan Sherlock will start on 20 January, and arrives as part of a company-wide expansion drive. His recruitment is designed to allow Hugh Titcomb – Brown Shipley’s head of private banking, who currently oversees the Manchester operation – to dedicate more time to the overall growth plan.

Sherlock returns to Brown Shipley following an 11-year stint in various wealth management advisory and management roles with UBS, including leading the firm’s Manchester office.

He will report to Titcomb, who cited Sherlock’s immersion in the Mancunian business community as a factor in his re-employment.

Titcomb said: “We already have a very substantial presence in Manchester and Jon’s significant client advisory and managerial experience will be invaluable as we continue to build our business in the area.”
