Andrew Morris, one of the founders of Rowan Dartington, together with senior fund manager Joe Dyer and his colleagues Helen Parry and Claire Hudd, have joined the firm and have taken up their roles with immediate effect.
Later on they will be joined by portfolio manager James Gardner and head of equity research and co- founder of Rowan Dartington, Mark Sevier.
R C Brown, which has long been established in the South West and had previously tried to hire the Signature team, recently set up a separate division to support the team it has brought on board from Signature.
Within R C, their offering will provide differentiated and independent investment solutions, and working with the financial adviser community, clients will benefit from the firm’s attractive cost structure and access to institutional brokers.
Commenting on the hires, Bob Brown, R C Brown’s chairman, said: “I have personally known some members of the [Signature] team for 30 years and I was disappointed that when we approached them three years ago they decided to remain at Rowan Dartington.
“Their distinctive offering of proven investment performance and outstanding customer service is a valuable combination, which will complement our existing offering.”
New recruit Morris added that the move represented an “exciting opportunity” for the team. “RC provides us with an attractive home for our team – with experienced personnel supported by a leading IT infrastructure and a longstanding City reputation,” Morris said.
