Wealth manager Brooks Macdonald announced it plans to expand its UK footprint by making a push into the Welsh marketplace.

The proposed office will be the firm’s 13th branch across the UK and Channel Islands.

The new satellite “will further enhance the group’s growth potential,” by exposing its brand and discretionary services to a region where it is not yet widely recognised, the group explained.

Brooks Macdonald head of regional offices John Wallace will oversee the opening of the new office, a project he called “an exciting new addition for the group,” which will fill “an important geographical gap in our office network.”

Asset management managing director Nick Holmes, added: “The opening of our new Wales office will mark another major milestone in our growth, widening our UK footprint and expanding our client base.

“It will also help us strengthen the service we already provide to clients and professional advisers in the area.”

While the group has not settled on an exact location yet, it anticipates the office will be based in Cardiff.
