Brooks Macdonald has concluded its search for a CFO, appointing the former chief risk officer at Aviva, Andrea Montague, to fill the role.
Montague (pictured) will join at the start of August, replacing former CFO Ben Thorpe, who announced his departure from the firm in January after five years in the role.
Thorpe was one of several senior departures to be announced by Brooks Macdonald in the first quarter of this year, including COO Lynsey Cross and head of responsible investment Ben Palmer. Priti Verma also departed to join Quilter after five years as chief risk officer.
Montague brings 25 years’ experience to Brooks’ much-changed senior leadership team. Before her CRO role at Quilter, she was group chief financial controller, and she has also held senior finance leadership positions at Royal London and Standard Life.
Earlier in her career she worked at Scottish & Newcastle and Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
Acting chairman Richard Price said: “I am delighted to welcome Andrea to Brooks Macdonald. She was the outstanding candidate in a strong field and the depth of her experience will be enormously valuable to the Group in continuing to drive forward our ambitious growth strategy.”
Montague added: “I am excited to join Brooks Macdonald, a business with a strong focus and a clear strategy. I look forward to working with Andrew Shepherd, his team and the board to accelerate the company’s growth.”
