Working from the firm’s London office, Godfrey will sit on its asset allocation committee, which is responsible for the framework of its proposition, as well as taking the leading role in formulating and communicating economic research for both clients and IFAs.

Godfrey will also be tasked with raising Brooks Macdonald’s profile, this following its recent sponsorship deal with Middlesex County Cricket Club and its acquisition of Clarke Willmott’s investment management team.

Brooks Macdonald Funds was launched last year to consolidate the firm’s funds business, while just last month the group reported its assets under management had breached the £3bn mark.

Godfrey left Credo Capital last year where she chaired its investment committee, and prior to that she was a fund manager at Julius Baer and responsible for Latin American Investments at GAM. She has also spent time in investment teams at both Goldman Sachs and UBS.

Godfrey said: “The firm has seen remarkable growth in assets while remaining true to its core value of providing the best for clients whilst leaping forward in terms of innovation, which is a rare feat in the industry. The opportunity to build on this success is very exciting.”
