Brooks Macdonald has appointed Ling Au-Yeung has an investment director for its Aim portfolio service.

Au-Yeung joins the manager from Rathbones where she spent three years as a smaller companies and Aim analyst.

Before Rathbones, Au-Yeung spent a decade at Adam & Company, latterly as associate director of investments. She has also worked at Anderson Strathern and Aberdeen Asset Management.

It follows the departure last month of Brooks’ Aim specialist Scott Lothian to Rathbones to expand its tax portfolio service.

Earlier this month, Brooks senior investment manager Robert Seifert left the firm for James Hambro & Partners.

Brooks recently announced that it had returned to positive net flows in its Q4 results. The manager ended the three months to 30 June 2021 with funds under management (FUM) up at £16.5bn, a 20.3% jump compared to last year’s final year figures.

The manager also announced its Cheltenham office debut on 12 July. The new office is headed up by Austen Speakman, who joined the firm in 2009.

The firm also relocated its Taunton office to Exeter in a move to expand its regional presence.
