An external team will be hired to spearhead growth in the region, and this is the discretionary fund manager’s fourth office, with its others being in Edinburgh, London and Birmingham.
Standard Life Wealth is the investment arm of Standard Life, run by Richard Charnock, and it has around £1.75bn of client AUM, although this is set to change when the acquisition of Newton’s private client business is complete.
David Driver, Managing Director at Standard Life Wealth, said: “We are currently servicing clients in the region from our London office, so we know there is demand for our proposition in the area. The team based at our new office will be fully committed to the South West region, meeting their clients regularly to discuss their goals and how they can work together to achieve them.
