Rowan Dartington Signature is the group’s DFM arm for financial advisers, which for the past 24 months has been run by Guy Stephens.

He now moves into a more technical investment role supporting the client, intermediary and the partner business of St James’s Place, which acquired RD in July 2015. Stephens will also work on growing Rowan Dartington International.

Taking over at Signature, Cowmeadow will work towards developing a national distribution network. Having spent 14 years at Brewin Dolphin, he has also held roles at Newton Investment Management and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Executive chairman Graham Coxell said: “With almost 30 years’ experience in the market, John has the perfect profile to lead our very successful investment management for IFAs offering. Since our acquisition by St James’s Place, we remain committed to supporting the UK IFA market for the long term. “We welcome John to our team and look forward to supporting him in his aim to take Signature to the next level of growth.”
