RBC Brewin Dolphin has announced the appointment of Joss Mitchell as wealth director, a month after the firm’s £1.6bn acquisition by the Jersey wealth arm of the Royal Bank of Canada completed.
Mitchell joins from Gam Investments, where he was head of the wealth management division for three years, having joined as a client director in April 2018. He has also held senior roles at Kleinwort Hambros, Citi Private Bank, and HSBC as part of a 35 year career in the industry.
Based in London, he will work on the discretionary fund manager’s ‘1762’ proposition, which offers investment solutions for “clients with complex needs”.
Simon Blowey, head of 1762, said: “In turbulent times, over-arching, trusted and expert advice is required more than ever. Joss’ appointment is fantastic news for the team. He brings substantial experience in delivering significant reassurance and value to his clients. The door is always open to talent, and we’re delighted Joss knocked on ours.”
Mitchell said: “The approach that 1762 has set out resonates with my principal passion to ensure that individuals and families develop or enhance a wealth ‘plan’, able to withstand anything that the future may throw at them. RBC Brewin Dolphin is renowned for putting clients first, so this was a natural fit for me.”
