Based in Birmingham, Cox’s role as business development manager follows over 20 years in the financial services sector.
He latterly worked at Quilter as the company’s regional development manager and prior to that for Scottish Widows as a senior account manager.
Cox said: “Recent research has shown that more Independent Financial Advisers are looking to outsource funds to discretionary fund managers and this is a sector I will be looking to grow at Brewin Dolphin.”
Brewin Dolphin’s discretionary management service attracted net inflows of £200m in the first half of the year.
