Clifton Asset Management has rolled out an investment platform called Viewpoint Portfolio.

It offers a range of product wrappers – including Sipps, Isas, Jisas, offshore bonds and general investment accounts – and is open architecture; spanning funds, equities, ETFs, investment trusts and bonds.

Viewpoint is white-labelled, giving financial advisers the option of using their own branding.

It is cloud-based and operated by Morgan Lloyd Sipp Services, Clifton’s pension provider subsidiary, which received its full platform permissions in early 2019.

‘Natural evolution’

The technology underpinning Viewpoint was developed by Hubwise, a technology business regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, which focuses on the retail wealth market.

“With ever-increasing numbers of IFAs using Morgan Lloyd for its Sipp and Ssas products, it was a natural evolution to launch our own low-cost investment platform so that IFAs can easily manage their client portfolios, alongside more complex work such as commercial property and Ssas loan-backs,” said John Dowding, technical director at Morgan Lloyd.

It is priced at 0.3% of the portfolio, with the yearly fee capped at £800.

Six discretionary fund managers have already signed up to Viewpoint:

  • Brewin Dolphin
  • Eden Park Investment Management
  • Seven Investment Management
  • Tilney Asset Management
  • LGT Vesta
  • Waverton Investment Management
