The owner of Sherborne Investor played the role of activist shareholder back in 2011 in order to oust former chairman Nick MacAndrew.
At the time he had a 17% stake in the company and used an extraordinary general meeting as his platform go get rid of MacAndrew.
After succeeding with support from 65% of voting shareholders, Bramson took over the chair and at one point also took on the role of CEO following the departure of Alan Grisay in October 2011.
He has been steadily buying more of the company since.
His replacement chair Poynter has served on F&C’s board as a non-executive director since 2009 and was formally chairman of the audit and compliance committee and a member of the nomination, remuneration and risk committees.
Following his appointment as chairman of the company he has now stepped down as a member of all other board committees apart from the nomination committee.
