According to the investment platform’s July adviser sales, all three of the mixed investment sectors appeared in the top 10 sellers, while in addition to the Sterling Corporate Bond sector, the Sterling Strategic Bond and Global Bonds sectors also made the list.
This meant only four of the top 10 sectors were equity-only sectors: Global, Global Emerging Markets, Japan and Europe ex UK.
However, the best selling funds for the month painted a different picture, with a diverse range of features appearing in the bestsellers, from global equity funds to cash funds.
Terry Smith’s Fundsmith UK Equity Fund was the top-seller for the month, followed by CF Lindsell Train UK Equity. However, in third and fourth spots were the BlackRock Cash and Standard SIPP Cash funds.
There was a distinct trend among ISA clients, with the majority of funds in top 10 being income-yielding funds.
“Markets continue to be vulnerable to political and geopolitical tensions and against this backdrop, we expect to see continued diversification and risk reduction within client portfolios,” said Paul Richards, head of sales at FundsNetwork.
“While July may have seen the Corporate Bond sector top the sector sales, our latest sales data suggests diversification remains the main focus for advisory firms, with firms continuing to spread client money across a range of asset classes.”
