The firm said it was very serious in its ambition to become one of the "premier investment management firms in the region", which it will target by strengthening distribution, developing its Asian equity capabilities and building innovative product solutions for both local and global clients.
Her official title is head of strategy & development, product & marketing for investment management in A-Pac.
Caire will report to Alan Harden, Asia-Pacific CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management and joins from ING Investment Management where she was most recently head of business management after starting there as regional head of product development.
Previously she worked at Alliance Trust in the UK and held A-Pac regional roles at Citigroup and Franklin Templeton.
Harden said: "It is a 10-year-plus journey, but we need to move the dial significantly over the next three to five years and we are hiring across the board, seeking talented people who are ambitious, entrepreneurial, innovative and up for a challenge."
Caire will manage the strategy, product and marketing functions for investment management in Asia-Pacific.
